Pretend Play Cosmetic and Makeup Set Review

8:11 PM Unknown 0 Comments

This was the perfect set for my 3 year old daughter. She loves to watch me do my makeup every day and likes to take my makeup brushes and pretend she's doing her makeup as well. It never fails though she tries to dip the brushes in the brightest pigments and then gets upset when I have to swap it out to a clean brush.

As you can imagine when I started doing my makeup this morning and surprised her with her own "makeup" her little face lit up. She was in heaven and couldn't wait to try everything out. She used all the brushes and a few of mine and when we were both done she couldn't wait to run out to her daddy and show off her look.

She loves her makeup and she has told everyone we have met today how she has makeup like mommy. When I was putting her to bed tonight she told me how much she loved me and that her makeup was the best present she ever had.

I am so happy with this purchase. It's a fun for her and keeps her out of my expensive makeup.

Murder on Safari Review & Giveaway

3:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

My Review:

To be totally honest, when I first started reading Murder on Safari I had a hard time really getting into it but after a few chapters I couldn't put it down.

The book takes you on an adventure to Africa with long time friends safari guide Mbuno and Pero Balrazar a wildlife tv producer and his film crew. While out filming they encounter danger that causes them to get out of dodge, or so they thought. With threats at every turn they are faced with the tasks of finding out who they can trust and trying to keep everyone safe. With terrorists hot on their heals, the tension rises.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty good book. I did find at times that it was overly detailed and caused the sentences to run on. But the characters had great development and the story line flowed easily.

Book Description for:

Only a reality TV producer and an expert safari guide can stop a terrorist attack.

Every adventure starts at the fringes of civilization. For expert safari guide Mbuno and wildlife television producer Pero Baltazar, filming in the wild of East Africa should have been a return to the adventure they always loved. This time they’d be filming soaring vultures in northern Kenya and giant sea crocodiles in Tanzania with Mary, the daughter of the world’s top television evangelist, the very reverend Jimmy Threte.

But when a terrorist cell places them in the crosshairs, there is suddenly no escape and they must put their filming aside and combine all their talents to thwart an all-out al-Shabaab terrorist attack on Jimmy Threte’s Christian gathering of hundreds of thousands in Nairobi, Kenya.

Stop & Smell your Children Book Review & Giveaway

6:30 AM Unknown 0 Comments

My Review:

Raising children is the most rewarding experience that many of us will ever have the privilege to do, but it is definitely not without its challenges.

In fact, there are times that the mundane day to day routine mixed with kids (Especially toddlers) can feel overwhelming.

Leah knows that laughter is the best medicine. The book is filled with encouragement, personal experiences, smart wit and loads of humor that keeps you turning the pages and wanting more.

Motherhood is a messy, wonderful, emotional roller coaster that will make you love deeper than you ever thought while occasionally simultaneously ripping out your heart.  Yeah, that sounds about right…

Honestly, Stop and Smell your Children is a breath of fresh air when it comes to books for parents. It’s real and not judgmental. It’s about time that someone was brave enough to say look being a mother is hard but amazing and instead of trying to sell the perfect mommy persona she isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

This is book is the perfect tool for encouraging moms on those hard days or for a good laugh on the great ones.

Forget including those “what to expect” books in your baby shower gifts and toss a copy of this in instead. Trust me the mom to be will thank you!

Book Description for :

Ready to laugh about motherhood and be encouraged? Tired of feeling overwhelmed and stressed out in the baby and toddler season? Need some fresh vision and perspective so you can enjoy—not just endure—your young children?

Stop and Smell Your Children: Laugh and Enjoy the Little Years offers moms-to-be and moms of young children short, real-life parenting stories that encourage and inspire. Leah Spina, mother of three children ages five and under, and former journalist, unleashes humor and perspective for tired moms who are parenting the “little” years. From the excitement of the positive pregnancy test to morning sickness and the banes of pregnancy, to childbirth, babies, toddlers and new parent struggles, the stories will make you laugh and see beauty in the chaos. Each story also includes thought-provoking takeaways to help busy moms gain a fresh outlook.

Strangers remind us that our children will be small only for a short time and to enjoy each moment. But then we return to the wild reality of parenting young children! All-night crying sessions. Never-ending laundry. Every-three-hour feeding schedules. Diaper explosions and projectile spit-up. Teething. Potty training. Yes, we enjoy our children, but we’d also like to enjoy a shower that lasts more than two minutes, or a meal that isn’t lukewarm (if we’re lucky). The truth is, pregnancy and parenting young children can be hard at times. But it can also be one of the best chapters of our lives, if we can learn to laugh and change our mindset.

Young children are one of life’s greatest gifts. Each page of this easy read will help you truly enjoy the “little” years!

Facial Hair Remover Threading Tool Review

10:13 AM Unknown 0 Comments

I have wanted to try my hand at threading for a while a now but using actually thread was a bit intimidating. Although this tool does take a little practice to get the hang of it, once you got it, it's awesome. I was able to effectively remove stray hairs with ease and I found that if I lay a warm washcloth over the area I'm planning to work on, there is much less pain and a bit of lotion after calms the skin and prevents redness.

Stainless Steel Salt & Pepper Grinder Set

9:49 AM Unknown 0 Comments

These are gorgeous! They have a sleek and modern look. The base is wider than the top which makes them more sturdy. The lids are easy to pop off and on, and having the lid also leads to less mess if they do turn over.

My favorite part is they do come in a set, I have another grinder that just came with 1 and while that is nice I paid as much or more for the 1 then this set retails for. This set holds 3/4 cup of salt, pepper, or your favorite spice. The top screws of for filling. The grinder is fully adjustable from very fine to very coarse.
